This is a replacement rubber for the Hicchū-Yumi.
[TPE Material (Synthetic Rubber)]
This material has rubber-like elasticity (elastomer properties) and is also commonly used for training tubes.
Unlike natural rubber, it does not show noticeable changes in appearance even when exposed to direct sunlight or air.
To help distinguish it from natural rubber and to provide a better finger grip when setting the string, a textured tube with a raised-and-recessed surface is used.
