Japanese Rōmaji English
矢束 yadzuka measurement from the center of your neck to the tips of your left finger.
矢尺 yajaku length of the arrow. We recommend beginners to add 10cm to their yadzuka to get their yajaku.
羽根 hane fletching, or feathers, of an arrow
矢尻 yajiri tip, or point, of the arrow
hazu nock of the arrow
ヘリ heri the purple trim on the wrist portion of the yugake. Sanbun Heri is the partial trim that starts at the base of the middle finger and extends just past the curve. See the Koto yugake picture for a sample. Shichibun Heri is the full trim that starts at the base of the middle finger and extends all the way around the lower edge of the yugake.
飾り kazari decoration on the yugake, specifically the purple outline around the base of the thumb and decorative purple stitching across the width of the thumb.
